Welcome to Woodland Juniors Volleyball Club!

We are excited to introduce a local opportunity for youth within the Woodland community to learn the skills needed to succeed and grow in volleyball! In our first year as a club, we will be running one 12u and one 14u team that will learn the skills of volleyball and participate in local practices and tournaments. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for young athletes to develop strong fundamentals while fostering a love of the game. We are dedicated to providing an affordable club with high quality coaches. We are thrilled to provide this opportunity to grow the game of volleyball within our community!


Danielle Hutton - Club Director

Danielle is the current Head Volleyball Coach at Woodland High School where she has been coaching for 5 years. Prior to becoming a head coach, she was an assistant coach at Mark Morris High School, Kelso High School, and Mt. Solo Middle School. She has also coached club at the 16u and 18u levels and has over 10 years of coaching experience. During her time with WHS, Danielle has coached her team to a league championship, two 2nd place district finishes, and a 6th place state finish. She was the 2A Coach of the Year in 2018 and in 2021 was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as one of the top 30 coaches in the nation under 30 years old, receiving the Thirty Under 30 award. Danielle has coached multiple record breaking athletes, all-league and all-state athletes, WIAA and AVCA Athletes of the Week, an Under Armour All American, and a Gatorade Player of the Year. Danielle is 3D coaching certified as well as AOC certified.

Marcy Gilchrist - 12u Head Coach

Marcy is the current Head Volleyball Coach at Woodland Middle School and has been coaching for over 26 years. She has experience coaching at all levels of the game, from 12u to collegiate. She is an alumni of Central Washington University and Lower Columbia College, where she won an NWAC title and was named MVP of the championship tournament. Her team later went on to be inducted into the NWAC Hall of Fame. As a college coach she was named the NWAC West Division Coach of the Year in her 3rd season, was nominated for the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College Award, and was the West Region Coach of the Year in 2010. Her coaching philosophy is simple: if you are all in and coachable, you will succeed!

Kallie Schmit - 14u Head Coach

Kallie is a Kalama High School and Lower Columbia College alumni who is thrilled to be taking her volleyball experience full circle with coaching! Kallie brings an abundance of playing experience, from playing club for Cowlitz and Kiki No elite club teams, to being a 4 year varsity volleyball player at Kalama High School where she was a TDN All-Area Athlete. After graduation, Kallie played at Salt Lake Community College where she was names to the NJCAA All-Tournament First Team. She then continued her playing career at Lower Columbia College where she helped lead the Lady Devils to a NWAC Championship title for the first time in 20 years. Kallie was named the NWAC All-Tournament MVP, First Team All American, and most recently NWAC Second Team All-Decade. Kallie is so excited to share her knowledge and help develop a love of the game in younger generations!

Rebecca Clark - 14u Head Coach

Rebecca is a 2009 graduate of Mark Morris High School. Rebecca is an alumni of Blue Mountain Community College and Eastern Oregon University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness. During her playing career, Rebecca was an AVCA 1st Team All-American and was named NWAAC Tournament MVP and led her team to win their first NWAC Championship. In 2011 while attending Eastern Oregon University Rebecca was named 1st Team All-League and New Comer of the Year. Rebecca acted as Assistant Coach for the Blue Mountain Community College volleyball team in 2012. She later returned to Mark Morris in 2015 as the head volleyball coach where she coached for 3 years.

You can expect practices (as well as some tournaments) to be held at one of our local school gyms within Woodland, WA.
